Founder, Director, Lead Coach

Douglass Stanton

My love for the game of hockey and playing hockey is second only to my love for coaching. I have been very fortunate to have worked with people from many levels of professional hockey, including the NHL, and to have played hockey competitively for 22 years. I finished my playing career as an assistant captain at Mercyhurst University. I enjoy passing on everything I have learned, along with sharing my passion for the game with young players.

Goalie Camp Director, Goalie Coach

Ellyn Stanton

Ellyn has been skating since she was 3 years old. When she was eight years old, she decided she wanted to be a goalie and never looked back. She recently graduated from Adrian College after playing for the women's ACHA division 1 hockey team during her four years there. She returned after to be an Assistant Coach and Goalie Coach. Her love for the game and coaching is easily seen when she's on the ice.

Coach, Lead Counselor

Kelsey Stanton

Kelsey began skating shortly after she took her first steps. She has always been a forward. She played for the Steel City Selects Tier 2 travel team, followed by the Pitt Elite Tier 1 travel team in her high school years. She went on to play for the D1 ACHA Adrian Bulldogs, and the D3 NCAA team at Chatham. She earned her place as an assistant captain with Pitt Elite, and as a freshman at Adrian. She loves coaching and working with kids, and is passionate about helping to grow women's hockey.

Who We Are

Stanton FPS Hockey School Is Different

A Better Approach to Hockey Education

Stanton FPS Hockey School provides a unique Hockey Camp experience filled with meaningful instruction, creativity, friends, and fun. Our program is designed for players and goalies from the squirt to bantam level. Our dynamic and unforgettable camp experience promotes the development of hockey fundamentals, principles, skills, leadership ability and a lasting love for the game.

We structure this camp differently (2 days per week for 8 weeks) from the traditional, one-week hockey camp in order to allow young hockey players to build habits over time, and to truly retain what they have learned. A traditional camp is good for getting some ice time and a bit of instruction, but how much of that instruction will stick? A full week of skating and drills is exhausting, mentally and physically, and generally does not offer much individual attention. With this camp - for less per hour than the cost of a babysitter - your child will receive plenty of individual attention, on and off the ice, and will progress steadily throughout the 8 weeks of camp. What they learn and develop here will carry on into the following hockey season, in which you will see significant results!
